Genie AI Terms
Effective September 15, 2026
These terms explain the extra rules for Genie's AI features: generation, inference, memory, recommendations, communications, and Actions. Please read them alongside the Genie Terms of Service. The Terms' definitions and Section 7 protections apply in full, including to the Genie Parties. If the documents conflict, the Terms take priority. Legally required consent and source restrictions still apply. The protected-review exception in Terms Section 7.16 and the consumer-market replacements in Section 9 also control here.
1. What you give Genie and what it does
Inputs are information made available directly or through connected sources; Outputs are AI-generated results. Together, we call them Materials. The Terms govern your rights, the Materials and promotional licenses, and authority for Actions Genie considers responsive to your Inputs. Separate confirmation is not required for every Action. You must have the necessary rights and authority for Materials, credentials, payment methods, and third-party interactions.
What you tell Genie is not private by default. The assistant tries to decide what to share and what to keep close under Terms Section 2, but neither that judgment nor a privacy marking guarantees confidentiality.
2. Using AI responsibly
Please do not use the AI features to do, promote, help with, or attempt any of the following:
Harmful or unlawful conduct. Illegal activity, terrorism, trafficking, exploitation, sexual violence or solicitation, harassment, bullying, threats, discrimination in essential services, mass surveillance, or abusive mass-reporting. Child exploitation or endangerment, abusive sexual material, grooming, unlawful age-restricted content for minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, or sexual depictions of real people without consent. Malware, weapons assistance, activities risking bodily harm, or encouragement of suicide, self-harm, or disordered eating. Unlicensed professional practice, unlawful use or inference of private or sensitive information, or consequential decisions about others' employment, housing, credit, insurance, education, or legal or immigration status.
Unauthorized access or manipulation. Exploiting vulnerabilities, unauthorized account or credential use, unauthorized or fraudulent transactions, spam to government, emergency, or crisis services, or bypassing security or usage controls. Unauthorized model or data extraction, benchmarking, competing-product development, or using Genie or Outputs to train or improve other AI, except where the Terms or non-waivable law permit.
Deception. Fraud, scams, phishing, spam, deliberate misinformation, defamation, unauthorized impersonation, deceptive synthetic media, false affiliations or endorsements, fake reviews or engagement, misleading claims about AI origin, or removal of required disclosures.
3. How we respond to misuse
If a violation occurs or is suspected, we may take any action we consider appropriate, including review, filtering, refusal, removal, restriction, or suspension. This does not mean we review every interaction. We follow legally required removal, preservation, reporting, and review processes, including applicable NCMEC reporting. Genie is not human or an emergency responder. Please do not defeat required AI notices or markings.
4. Helping Genie improve
We may use eligible Materials to operate, develop, train, and improve our Products and other services. The Privacy Policy explains the training opt-out that applies going forward, safety-review exception, previously trained models, human review, and providers. Required consents and source restrictions control. Third-party technology falls under the Terms' disclaimers; using it creates no additional warranty, indemnity, or support commitment by Genie.
5. Please remember: the AI can get things wrong
Errors will occur despite accurate instructions, proper use, and safeguards. You accept their consequences as allocated in the Terms, including incorrect memories, unintended disclosures, and incorrect or missed Actions. The Terms' disclaimers, combined Genie Parties liability cap of the greater of $100 or six months of Product fees, and defense and indemnity provisions apply, subject to non-waivable rights. We try to help with mistakes, but can't take on a contractual duty to investigate, correct, reverse, remediate, or reimburse every one.
The applicable replacements in Terms Section 9 prevail over that cap, indemnity, and assistance language.
