Genie Community Standards
Effective September 15, 2026
Genie is a place to connect with the people in your life, discover places and experiences, and get things done with an AI assistant. We know you're here for those things, not to cause harm. These Standards put our shared expectations into words and explain where to turn when something doesn't feel right. Looking out for each other helps make Genie a place people are genuinely glad to be.
These Standards cover what you do, share, request, generate, send, or arrange through Genie, including messages, group chats, AI features, Actions on connected services, and interactions arising through Genie. They're part of your agreement with Genie Travel, Inc. under our Terms of Service (the Terms) and Genie AI Terms. The Terms' definitions apply. Section 8 below explains how we handle problems, alongside Terms Sections 6.2, 7.2, and 7.10. The Terms control any conflict, including their protected-review exception and consumer-market rules. Genie is for people 18 and older.
Something concerning you? Please use the available in-app reporting tools or email hi@geniegetsme.com. You don't need to know which rule applies before contacting us. Section 7 explains reporting, and Section 7.1 explains how to request removal of an intimate image shared without consent.
1. Show up as yourself
Real connections start with knowing who we're talking to. Please go by the name you use in everyday life, keep your details accurate, and use one account that's yours, unless we agree otherwise. Keep your login details to yourself rather than sharing or handing off your account; Terms Section 6.1 explains the account rules.
Please don't impersonate someone else or use fake or bot accounts to mislead people. Don't create or use another account to get around a suspension or ban. Returning after removal requires our written permission under the Terms.
2. Look out for each other
Everyone deserves to feel welcome and respected. These boundaries help us look after that shared space.
2.1 No violence or threats
There is no place on Genie for threatening, encouraging, organizing, or celebrating violence or serious harm to people or animals, or for supporting terrorism or violent extremism. If you encounter a threat, please report it. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services rather than waiting for a response from Genie.
2.2 Be kind and respect boundaries
Please treat people with care, including when you disagree. Harassment, bullying, intimidation, and unwanted, repeated contact aren't welcome here.
If someone blocks you or asks you to stop contacting them, respect that boundary. Don't use Genie, another account, group invitations, or other people to get around it, and don't organize others to harass someone.
2.3 Everyone belongs
Genie is for people of every background. Please don't attack, demean, or stir up hatred against people because of who they are, including their race or ethnicity, social or caste status, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, or a serious illness.
2.4 Protecting young people
Keeping children safe is a shared responsibility, and sexual exploitation or endangerment of a minor has no place here. We do not allow child sexual abuse material (CSAM); sexual, suggestive, or exploitative content involving anyone under 18; grooming or sexualized contact with a minor; or attempts to arrange harm to a child. These rules also apply to AI-generated or altered content.
When we identify apparent child sexual abuse or exploitation, we remove or restrict access to violating content and may suspend or close accounts under Section 8. We preserve information and report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as legally required, and may make other reports or disclosures where lawful.
If you encounter suspected child sexual abuse material, please identify where it appears rather than downloading or forwarding it to make a report. Section 7 explains how to reach us.
2.5 Care around self-harm
If you're going through something hard, you deserve support. Talking about your own struggles or seeking help is not the same as encouraging harm. Please don't encourage, promote, or give instructions for suicide, self-harm, or disordered eating.
We try to point people toward helpful resources, but Genie is not an emergency service and cannot be relied on to detect or respond to a crisis. Please reach out to a crisis line or qualified professional for support, and contact local emergency services if someone is in immediate danger.
2.6 Respect consent and keep things non-explicit
To keep Genie comfortable for the community, please keep things non-explicit: no pornographic or sexually explicit content. Never create or share intimate depictions of someone without their consent, or sexual content involving a minor or anyone being exploited or coerced. This includes AI-generated or altered intimate depictions, threats to share them, and using intimate material to pressure, blackmail, or extort someone.
Agreeing to an image being created or shared privately is not permission to share it further. If intimate content depicting you has been shared without your consent, Section 7.1 explains how to request its removal, whether or not you have a Genie account.
2.7 No exploitation of people
Don't use Genie to facilitate human trafficking, forced labor, or any other exploitation of people. Please tell us if you encounter conduct that concerns you.
3. Keep it honest
Trust makes recommendations, conversations, and plans worthwhile. Please help preserve it:
Keep transactions lawful. Don't use Genie to commit crimes, buy or sell illegal drugs or weapons, or bypass licensing, age, or other legal restrictions.
Be straightforward with people. Don't defraud, phish, scam, or misrepresent who you are or what you're offering.
Let recommendations and engagement be genuine. Don't send spam or use fake reviews, false endorsements, fake-engagement schemes, or deceptive bots.
Take care with information that could cause harm. Don't spread harmful misinformation, including dangerous health claims or deceptive content intended to undermine people's safety or an election.
4. Respect each other's space
Privacy. Please don't expose someone else's private or sensitive information without the rights or consent needed, or use Genie to dox, stalk, surveil, or track people. Don't try to obtain information from someone else's conversations, connected accounts, or memories that you aren't entitled to access.
What you tell Genie is not private by default; the assistant tries to decide what to share and what to keep close, but can get that judgment wrong. Genie's sharing follows Section 2 of the Terms and our Privacy Policy. Your responsibility for the information and rights you provide is explained in Terms Section 6.5.
Other people's work. Please respect copyright, trademarks, and other rights. Share material only when you have the rights or are otherwise legally entitled to do so. Terms Section 7.13 explains how to report copyright concerns and submit counter-notices.
5. Use the AI thoughtfully
The assistant is here to help you, not to give anyone a way around another person's boundaries. Please don't use AI features to create, request, or spread anything that breaks these Standards, or to bypass safety systems.
Don't manipulate Genie into revealing information you aren't entitled to access, taking unauthorized Actions, or contacting someone who has asked you to stop. Don't deliberately plant false information in another person's memories or profile to deceive people or cause harm.
The Genie AI Terms contain the full AI-use rules. An incorrect memory or other AI mistake is not, by itself, deliberate misuse by you. If something looks wrong, you can use available controls or contact us to request review or correction under the Terms and Privacy Policy.
6. Meet people and travel safely
Meeting new people and discovering places can be wonderful parts of Genie. A little care goes a long way: meet someone new in public, tell a friend where you're headed, and trust your judgment.
We don't run background checks. Meetings, travel, and other interactions are at your risk, and Genie is not responsible for others' offline behavior, subject to the Terms, including Sections 7.7, 7.14, and 9. If something arising through Genie concerns you, please let us know through Section 7's reporting routes. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
7. Help us look after the community
If something seems wrong, please tell us through the available in-app reporting tools or at hi@geniegetsme.com. A brief description of what happened and enough information to locate the content, account, or conversation can help us understand the concern. You can also use available blocking controls to limit contact. If you're having trouble finding reporting or blocking options, please email us.
We try to help with reports and respond appropriately, but can't promise a particular outcome in every case. We meet the reporting and response requirements that apply. Genie's reporting channels are not emergency services.
Please report honestly. Don't knowingly submit false reports, organize abusive mass-reporting, or use reporting tools to harass someone. A good-faith report does not become misuse simply because we reach a different conclusion. Protected reviews, assessments, and complaints remain welcome under Terms Section 7.16.
7.1 Requesting removal of intimate images
If an intimate image or video depicting you has been shared on Genie without your consent, including an AI-generated or altered depiction, you or someone authorized to act for you can request removal at hi@geniegetsme.com. You do not need a Genie account.
Please include the following in your written request:
- Your contact details, or those of the person authorized to act for you.
- Your physical or electronic signature, or your authorized representative's.
- Identification of the image or video and enough information for us to locate it on Genie.
- A brief statement of your good-faith belief that it was published without your consent, including any relevant context that helps us assess that.
Where the TAKE IT DOWN Act applies, we remove the reported depiction as soon as possible, and no later than 48 hours after receiving a valid request. Within that same period, we make reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies on Genie. You do not need to find or report every copy yourself.
If you're unsure how to describe or locate the content, please contact us with the information you have. For suspected child sexual abuse material, identify its location rather than downloading or forwarding it. You can also report threats to share intimate material through the reporting routes above.
8. How we handle problems
Our aim is to protect the community and help people understand what went wrong. For actual or suspected violations, we may respond according to the seriousness, context, and history of the issue. We may remove content or limit its reach, add a warning, restrict features, suspend or close an account, or take another step we consider appropriate.
These options are not a required sequence. We may act immediately and without an earlier warning, including for serious or repeated problems, illegal content, or threats to safety, subject to the Terms and applicable law. We may preserve information and make reports or disclosures to authorities where required or allowed by law.
We may use automated tools and human review to help identify and respond to concerns. Both can make mistakes, and we do not review every interaction. If you think we got a decision wrong, please contact hi@geniegetsme.com and explain what you would like us to reconsider.
We try to explain decisions and help when something has gone wrong, but can't promise a particular outcome in every case. We provide notices, reasons, and review options where required. Where law permits, we may withhold notice or details if giving them would create legal risk, harm the community, or compromise our systems, or if disclosure is prohibited.
All enforcement remains subject to the Terms, including their protected-review exception and Section 9 rules for access, paid periods, refunds, and claims. These Standards do not replace those protections or expand Genie's duties beyond the commitments stated here and applicable requirements.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these Standards as described in Terms Section 7.1, including the consumer-market rules in Section 9 where they apply.
